World PUA Summit 2007 in Hollywood - The Forum Gets an Award! August 27, 2007

Heya Guys,

I have mentioned this a bit but thought I'd give ya'll a bit of a breakdown. I haven't been posting much over the last few weeks as I'm currently in the U.S of A!

Woo hoo!

I was invited to come out here and give a talk on some ideas I have about game at the world PUA Summit. Plus, with my girl being in Dallas I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. They held the first PUA awards and our forum got the award for the largest community in the world!

How awesome is that? With all the discussions and arguments, we are the most active and largest in the world!

I accepted the award on behalf of the forum along with another award for myself as the number 1 PUA in the UK, which I don’t know if I agree with so I made them add biggest AFC.

I’m bringing the trophy home with me when I come back. The awards were televised and had a few members of Hollywood press present, although it was still a very small affair considering.

The summit rocked, there were loads of great people. I got to talk with Thundercat, Swinggcat and a whole bunch of other people who I'm sure I should have known, but didn't as I try to stay away from theory as much as possible. Channel 4 followed me the ENTIRE time! That was an absolute pain in the ass. You have no idea how annoying it is. I was trying to fix things with my girl, only to have them filming us from across the room trying to hear what we where saying.

Still, all in all, the whole thing was absolutely amazing and well worth the hassle.

Here's the best bit.

AFC: Adam, do you have any products for sale?

AFC AdamLondon: No

AFC: Do you run bootcamps?

AFC AdamLondon: No

AFC: Oh, so how do you teach?

AFC AdamLondon: I do the odd one-to-one and do free things as often as possible.

AFC: I don't get it.

AFC AdamLondon: Me neither, but I like making the community cheap!

AFC: Would you run bootcamps in the US?

AFC AdamLondon: Nah, I help my dad as a janitor in the evenings. Besides, I prefer London weather.

I was interviewed and asked the difference between game in the US and the UK.

I said, “Look around you at all the hats, sticks and goggles. In the UK, this would be a comic book convention. We prefer to be as NORMAL as possible advocating being social, and having fun, over using lines and tricks.”

Anyway, I don't have much time to write but just wanted to say I miss you all very much, I love you guys, and that we rock the world!!!!!!!

! I didn’t know how to feel. I’d been recognised as the Best PUA in the UK. It was scary and yet somehow rewarding. Though I hadn’t sorted things out with the girl in the US properly, we were still kind of seeing each other.
